Let's look at a few more components Discovery has to offer. Explore 1 or 2 of the components listed in the Teacher Center, and share your thoughts. How would you incorporate it into your classroom? How would it impact you and/or your students?

I explored Lesson Plan Library, which allows teachers to access a variety of lesson plans designed with Discovery Education videos. I would incorporate it into the classroom by using the Literacy lessons and activities to teach genres and information literacy. It would impact my students and I by providing videos, resources, and activities associated with Discovery Education.
Another component of the Teacher Education center is the calendar which allows students to explore the past and present with videos associated with that day. I would incorporate it in my classroom as a daily introduction or morning activity journal. It would impact my students and I by exploring a variety of different events and occurrences each and every day.
In the lesson plan library, I found many wonderful new ideas on the South American rainforest. One lesson plan is about the animals in the rainforest. It is a fabulous, age-appropriate lesson to use in my kindergarten classroom.
I found that the lesson plan library would be useful in my every day planning. I can incorporate these pre-planned lessons into my own weekly lessons. The lessons will enhance my current plans.
I really enjoyed the calendar. I believe that the students would enjoy learning about what happened in history on a specific day. I would have them research their own birthday to find interesting facts about what happened on their day.
The Discovery's Atlas tab has great interactive maps with videos culture, government, history, and environment of a variety of countries. As an ESL teacher it will allow children to learn about their countries of origin, or showcase them for other children.
The calendar would be a great tool for creating the daily journaling prompt.
I really like and will use the calendar everyday to integrate all subject matters with Literature. I also learned how to embed video in a flipchart correctly.
I checked out Lesson Plan Library. I would use it in my classroom by having it help me with ideas of different ways to teach a particular topic. It would help my students by providing videos, and other things with Discovery Education.
Another one that I would use is the calendar which allows students to view things that happened on their birthday. I would incorporate it as a fun change of pace activity every so often.

The calendar is important to find info about different dates in the past.
I will definetly use the writing prompt builder to build assessment on videos that do not have Teacher materials to compliment videos.

I could use the calendar to integrate more history into my science lessons.
I could use the lesson library to find diverse topics for my gifted students.
I will now embed videos into my promethean flipcharts. It will be much easier than maintaining a separate video file for these things.
I also plan to use glogster as an alternative to posters.
The Atlas in the teacher center is something I would like to explore further for my Around the world theme.

I'll be able to use the lesson plan library and the calendar for my classes.
The Atlas is great.
